They have long been considered beasts who hunted during daylight hours and recovered after the sun went down. But new evidence challenges the theory that vicious predators like the Velociraptor were most active by day.
Scientists now think Steven Spielberg was right in his 1993 film Jurassic Park - meat-eating dinosaurs did hunt at night. It used to be thought that early mammals in the dinosaur era found refuge in the night, when the reptilian killers were not around.
